Established patients have the option to request a Well Child Appointment via our secure Patient Portal. If your child needs any other type of appointment please call our office so that we may assist you. Please note that by simply requesting an appointment via the portal you are not guaranteed that day and time; however, we will do our best to meet your needs. Please allow 72 hours for us to contact you regarding an appointment. To request an appointment via our Secure Patient Portal, visit here.
At this time, we are not offering this option to new patients. If you are a new patient and would like to schedule an appointment, please call one of our offices:Raleigh – 919.872.0250 or Garner – 919.779.6423.
All patients are seen by appointment only. We ask that you choose a preferred physician to direct your child’s medical care. Appointments will be scheduled with your preferred physician whenever possible. Patients who arrive without an appointment will be given the next available opening, unless the medical staff determines the problem is urgent and the patient should not wait. Well exams, consultations, sick visits, and follow up appointments are done during regular office hours Monday through Friday. Extended weekday hours are for children who become sick later in the day and weekend hours are for urgent problems that cannot await regular office hours on Monday.
Well Exams: Parents are asked to call in advance to schedule well exams and oftentimes, for infants, this may be done prior to leaving the office from a current exam. Frequently, our time for well examinations is filled two months ahead; therefore, try to anticipate well in advance your need for camp, school, athletic, and other examinations with a deadline.
Sick Appointments: We have openings available at the start of each workday to see sick children and encourage you to call as early in the day as possible if your child needs an appointment. Sick visits usually focus on a single problem and tend to be shorter visits.
Length of Appointments: The length of time you are in the office for an appointment will vary greatly depending on the reason for the visit. Our schedulers have detailed guidelines to follow when setting the appointment to minimize the length of your visit. For each type of appointment our clinical staff have specific items that are completed prior to the physician beginning his/her exam. Well appointments generally last from 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours while sick appointments are usually much shorter depending on the severity of the illness. A typical appointment for a common cold or ear infection without complications may take 15 to 30 minutes depending on additional complaints. We do ask that if you have waited in the waiting room or in the exam room for more than 15 minutes that you please check with the staff as there may be an extenuating circumstance for the delay.
